PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team was defeated today by Bellarmine, 3-0.  With the loss the Storm falls to 0-1 overall and Bellarmine improves to 1-0 on the season. 

The Knights opened the scoring when forward Mary Beth Gorham scored an unassisted goal in the third minute.  Bellarmine added another goal before the end of the first half when Erika Laws scored off of an assist by Lauren Holder, to give Bellarmine a 2-0 advantage at the half. 

In the second half, Katie Fernandez scored the game's final goal for the Knights, and the Knights won 3-0.

In net for the Storm was freshman Marissa Brannon (Concord, Oh / Lake Catholic), she faced 20 shots, 10 of which were on goal, and made seven saves.
