Storm Falls to Davis and Elkins, 2-1

PAINESVILL, Ohio- Lake Erie College women's soccer team was defeated by Davis and Elkins today (September 21st), 2-1.   With the lose the Storm fall to 3-2 on the season, and Davis and Elkins improves to 2-1-2. 

Davis and Elkins opened the scoring in the first half when Taylor Morton scored when she bent the corner kick into the net.   The Storm was awarded a penalty kick but were unsuccessful in converting for a goal. 

In the second half, the Storm drew level when sophomore forward Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) put her head on the end of a free kick taken by sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Roesch (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central), to make the score 1-1.   

The Senators scored the game winning goal with five minutes remaining when Riley Partyka made the score 2-1. 

In net for the Storm was senior Sarah Stroope (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) faced 11 shots, six of which were on goal, made four saves, and allowed two goals. 

The Storm will be back in action Friday (September 26th) when they host conference opponent Grand Valley St. at 2 P.M.
