Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio- Lake Erie College defeated Daemen College, 1-0 today (September 12th)in Painesville. With the win the storm improve to 2-1 overall, and Daemen falls to 2-2 on the season.
The first half was a back and forth battled, which saw both teams attempting four shots, but neither were able to find the back of the net.
The Storm took a 1-0 advantage in the 83rd minute, when freshman forward Kalah Saunders (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Cleveland Heights) scored the winning goal off the assist by sophomore forward Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central). It was the first goal of her career, and Awauh second assist on the season.
In net for Lake Erie College was senior Sarah Stroope (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) who faced eight shots, four of which were on goal, and made four saves.
The Storm will be back in action Tuesday (September 16th) to take on Seton Hill at 3 P.M.
