Storm Falls to Ohio Dominican, 4-1

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's soccer team was defeated today (November 1st) by Ohio Dominican, 4-1.  With the loss the Storm fall to 7-9-2 overall and 3-7-2 in the conference, and with the win the Panthers improve to 13-3-1 overall and 10-1-1 in conference play.

The scoring was opened in the first half when forward Kelly Johnson scored on an unassisted goal to give the Panthers a 1-0 advantage with 19 minutes left in the half.  Two minutes later Ohio Dominican widened their lead when Ashley Blake scored an unassisted goal to make the score 2-0.

The Storm closed the gap in the 31st minute when sophomore forward Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) scored off of  free kick, to make the score 2-1 in favor of Ohio Dominican.  

In the second half, Blake scored her second goal of game off of an assist by Broegan Sautter to give the Panthers a 3-1 advantage with 42 minutes left in the game.  With 25 minutes to play Ohio Dominican took a 4-1 advantage when Jordan Mazzi found the back of the net off of an assist by Blake. 

Senior Sarah Stoope (Oxford, Mich. / Oxford) was in net for the Storm she faced 15 shots, six of which were on goal, made two saves and allowed four goals.
