Storm Fall to Charleston, 4-1

Box Score

Charelston, W.Va.-- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team got the board first but a strong offensive performance from the University of Charleston lifted the Golden Eagles to a 4-1 victory over the Storm Sunday (Sept. 8).

After a scoreless first-half, the Storm (1-1) got on the board first when Grace Ferut (Medina, Ohio/Medina) headed in a corner kick from Elizabeth Roesch (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) to give the Storm a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute. It did not take the Golden Eagles (1-1) long to respond as Isabella Jaffin tied the game 15 seconds later. The score remained tied until Brittany Loveland put the Eagles up 2-1 in the 61st minute. Lydia Murray added two late goals as the Eagles closed out the game, 4-1.

The Storm is back in action Tuesday (Sept. 10) when they travel to Erie, Pa to face nonconference foe Mercyhurst University.
