Box Score

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.-- The Lake Erie College Men's basketball team dropped its third straight game, ending the nonconference portion of their 2013-14 schedule with a 75-55 loss at Slippery Rock University Saturday (Nov. 30).

The Storm (3-3) opened the game on a 9-2 run before The Rock tied it at 17 and eventually took a 38-27 lead into the half. The Rock kept up the pace throughout the second half, to seal the win.

Riley Thomas (Cardington, Ohio/Cardington-Lincoln) and Garrick Sims (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) led the Storm with 17 points apiece. Sims was efficient shooting from the field, converting eight-of-12 chances, but The Rock shut the Storm shooting efforts down as the Storm shot just 37.3% from the field overall. Slippery Rock also controlled the battle of the boards as well, winning the rebounding war 43-26.

Josh Martin scored 18 and Mauric Lewis-Briggs had 16 to lead The Rock.

The Storm open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play Thursday (Dec. 5) on the road at Ferris State University.
