Postwaite Wins All-Ohio Triple Jump, Prusky With School Record and Second Place in High Jump

OXFORD, OHIO – Freshman Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) won Lake Erie College's first individual All-Ohio Championships title and had a pair of top-10 finishes to highlight the Storm track and field teams second day at the event in Oxford, Ohio.

The Storm men totaled 25 points at the two-day competition to finish eighth of 15 in-state teams from all three NCAA divisions. The women tallied eight points to place 14th.

Postwaite won the triple jump by leaping 48' 8 ¼", his third best jump of the outdoor season.  He also placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 6' 6", and just missed another top-10 finish in the long jump, taking 11th place in 21' 10".  Sophomore All-American Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) finished second in the high jump at 6' 9 ¾". 

Freshman Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) continued the Storm jumpers' dominance on the women's side, tying for second in the high jump with a school-record effort of 5' 5 ¾".  She was one of three top-10 finishers for Lake Erie.  Senior Alex Ardo (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) placed eighth in the triple jump (33' 11 ½") and freshman Ariana Jorgensen (Toronto, Ont./Henry Carr Secondary) took ninth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.12.

The other top-10 finishers on the men's side were senior Joe Lockard (Columbus, Ohio/Circleville) in the 200-meters with a time of 22.40 seconds, the fastest mark by a Storm runner this season, and junior Greg Gerber (Fremont, Ohio/Clyde) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:52.27).  Additionally, the 4x400-meter relay team also finished 10th (3:29.49).

The Storm's final tune-up for the upcoming Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships will be next Saturday, April 28, at the Ashland University Alumni Open.
