AURORA, ILL.--The Lake Erie College volleyball team fell short in its final two matches at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament on Saturday (Oct. 12) against Maryville University (Mo.) and Kentucky Wesleyan College in Aurora, Ill.

Maryville (3-17) defeated the Storm (3-14, 0-9 GLIAC) in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13-25-20. Molly Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) led the Storm with eight kills. Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) and Sara Aultz (Wooster, Ohio/Orrville) tallied six kills apiece. Rachel Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) recorded 12 digs.

The Storm fell in their tournament finale to Kentucky Wesleyan (9-14) 25-17, 25-12, 25-18. Richardson once again led the Storm in kills with seven. Ritt collected 18 digs while Andrea Harris (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) served two aces.

The Great Lakes Valley Conference won the Crossover Tournament for the third straight year over the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 29-19.

The Storm return home on Friday (Oct. 19) to take on GLIAC foe Hillsdale College (4-9, 3-2 GLIAC) at 7 pm at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic and Wellness Center.
