AURORA, ILL.--The Lake Erie College volleyball team dropped its first match in the 2012 GLVC/GLIAC Crossover tournament against McKendree University 3-1 on Friday (Oct. 12) in Aurora, Illinois.

The Storm picked up the win in the first set 25-19 before dropping the final two sets to the Bearcats (25-15, 25-11, 25-11).

Molly Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) combined for 19 kills for the Storm. Hoppe and Rachel Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) tallied 21 digs.

Maureen Nesbit led the Bearcats (8-12) with 14 kills, while Maddie Kelly recorded 17 digs.

The Storm conclude the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament Saturday (Oct. 12) with matches against Maryville University (Mo.) (2-16) and at 12 pm and Kentucky Wesleyan College (7-13) at 6 pm.
