Box Score PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Freshman Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs,
Ohio/Clyde) had a team-high six kills, but the rest of the Lake
Erie College volleyball team combined for just nine more as the
Storm dropped its third straight match to open Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a 3-0 loss at
Hillsdale College on Sunday (Sept. 12).
The Storm (3-5, 0-3 GLIAC) posted a -.014 hitting percentage
against the 25th-rankend Chargers (6-1, 3-0), the second time in
three matches Lake Erie has had a negative rating. Hillsdale
hit at an impressive .406 clip in winning 25-9, 25-16, 25-9.
Ashlee Crowder had a match-high 10 kills to lead the Chargers
while three others added six. Defensively, Hillsdale had 39 digs
and six total blocks as a team, compared to just 13 and three for
Lake Erie.
The Storm will look to return to the win column on Friday, Sept.
17, when they travel to Northern Michigan for a GLIAC
match.
