Box Score PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College volleyball team
received a rude welcome from host Wayne State University in its
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener
Friday night (Sept. 10), as the Warriors swept the Storm in three
games.
The match, which took just over an hour to complete, went the
Warriors' way by the scores of 25-17, 25-9, 25-22.
Offensively, the Storm (3-3, 0-1 GLIAC) struggled with a
-.145 hitting percentage and had just 11 kills on the night as
a team. Freshman Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde)
and junior Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton)
each had three kills to lead Lake Erie.
Katarzyna Sak had a game-high 15 kills while Cydney
Biessel had 32 assists to pace the Warriors (3-3, 1-1
GLIAC). Wayne State had a .293 hitting percentage in the
match.
The Storm continues its GLIAC-opening weekend road
trip Saturday afternoon, Sept. 11, at the University of
Findlay.
