Women's Soccer Suffers Defeat at Findlay

Lake Erie College (1-2, 0-2 GLIAC) was within striking distance throughout much of the match, but fell to The University of Findlay (2-0-1, 2-0 GLIAC), 2-0, in a conference contest in Finday, Ohio. 

The Oilers struck first early on in the contest as Amanda Bachmayer scored from 10 yards out in the eighth minute.  The score remained 1-0 at the end of the first half. 

That one goal difference remained for much of the second half as well until Findlay tacked on an insurance goal in the 84th minute when Ann Eichman scored from deep inside the box for the final 2-0 margin. 

The Oilers won the battle of shots, 32-4, and corner kicks, 9-0 

Junior Chelsea Giesen (Grants Pass, Ore./North Valley) started for the Storm is goal took the loss as she allowed one goal, with seven saves, in the first half.  Freshman Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) played the second half and allowed one goal with three saves in her first collegiate action.   

Lake Erie is in action next on Sunday, Sept. 12 when they travel to take on Tiffin University at 12:00 p.m.
