Box Score PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College volleyball team could
not start a winning streak as it fell in straight sets to Northwood
University, 3-0, in a GLIAC match at the Jerome T. Osborne Center
in Painesville, Ohio. The match was part of GLIAC Pink Wave
and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Dig Pink efforts
towards breast cancer awareness.
Lake Erie's (4-20, 1-12 GLIAC) loss came after a five-set
win on Friday night against Lake Superior St. while Northwood
(11-10, 8-6 GLIAC) has won eight of its past 11 matches.
The Wolverines took the match by scores of 25-18, 25-14, and
25-19.
Junior Michelle
Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) led the Storm with
six kills in the match while freshman Molly
Richardson (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger). Junior
Krista O'Connor (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) had a
team-high 16 digs, while junior Lauren
Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and sophomore Stephanie Minotas
(Cleveland, Ohio/Trinity) each had eight assists.
The Storm is back in action on Tuesday at Ashland and host GLIAC
home matches next weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
