Box Score Lake Erie College (2-11-1, 0-11 GLIAC) scored two goals but it
was not enough in a 6-2 loss to Northwood University (5-9, 3-9), at
the Midland Soccer Complex in Midland, Mich.
Amanda Watson gave the Timberwolves a 1-0 advantage less than
five minutes into the game but the Storm answered back in the
11th minute when freshman midfielder Chrissy Poulos
(North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) connected on a cross from
freshman midfielder Paige Nemec (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) for her
first collegiate goal. Northwood regained the lead in the
26th minute on a goal from Tonya Sitney and Alyssa
Tomassi scored twice in the final three minutes of the first half
to give the Wildcats a 4-1 advantage and put the game
away.
Tomassi picked up where she ended the half as she netted her
third goal in seven minutes in the 49th minute.
Sitney got her second goal of the day in the 71st minute
and freshman forward Misty
Porter (Reno, Nev./North Valleys) scored her second goal of the
season in the 84th minute for the final 6-2 margin.
Junior goalkeeper Chelsea
Giesen made six saves for Lake Erie in the loss.
Northwood outshot the Storm, 19-8, and each team attempted three
corner kicks.
The Storm has its final road and non-conference contest of the
year on Tuesday when it travels to Seton Hill for a 4:00 p.m.
