Box Score Lake Erie College (2-9-1, 0-9 GLIAC) lost to GLIAC foe Ashland
University (3-6-2, 2-5-2 GLIAC), 3-0, in a road contest in Ashland,
Ohio. The Eagles beat the Storm by an identical 3-0 score in
Painesville in the first matchup in September.
Ashland got all three of its goals in the first 22 minutes
and then sat on the big lead. Deanna Gundling scored the
first two goals, each assisted by Jamie Greene, in the seventh and
20th minutes. In the 22th minute, Savannah Garside
put the Eagles up by the final 3-0 margin.
Ashland won the battle of shots, 24-4, while each team attempted
three corner kicks.
Freshman Megan
Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) played the first
half and made five saves. Junior Chelsea
Giesen (Grants Pass, Ore./North Valley) did not allow a goal in
the second half and made two saves.
The Storm return to action on Friday when they kick off a GLIAC
road weekend with a trip to Saginaw Valley State.
