Box Score 2 PAINESVILLE, OHIO - The Lake Erie College volleyball team took a
pair of games during the first day of action at the Davis &
Elkins Senators Spikefest on Friday (Sept 4), defeating
Pitt-Johhnstown 3-2 and Ohio Valley 3-0.
The Storm (5-2) snapped a two-match losing streak with a 20-25,
25-22, 26-24, 17-25, 15-13 win over UPJ in the opening
match. Freshman Mary Walter led the way with 14 kills and four
service aces, while senior Erica Muniak and junior Jennifer Laureno
each had nine kills. Sophomore Lauren Bogatay had 21
assists.
Lake Erie defeated Ohio Valley in rather quick fashion, 25-19,
25-16, and 25-20. Walter had six kills and six aces while
Laureno had five blocks on defense. Senior Katie Yanesh also
had six kills.
The Storm returns to the court on Saturday morning for two more
matches at the events.
