Box Score PAINESVILLE, OH - The Lake Erie Storm women's soccer team
battled to a 1-1 tie this afternoon (Sept. 11) against the Ashland
Eagles.

Holland (Pickerington, OH/Pickerington North) scored off a
cross from freshman Jenna
Hanford (North Royalton, OH/North Royalton) with 6:11 to play
in the second half. Holland was able to slide the ball past Ashland
keeper Krista Herbst from 10 yards out to give the Storm a 1-0
lead.
Ashland's Chelsea Hyatt, though, knocked in her fourth goal of
the season just 50 seconds later to knot the score.
The teams played through two overtimes and Storm keeper Jaimie
Nelson (Las Vegas, NV/Las Vegas) was brilliant, stopping four
shots in the final 20 minutes. She finished the game with 12 saves
in the match.
The Storm (2-2-1) used a terrific offsides trap, halting
the Eagles (3-0-1) offsides 16 times in the game. Lake
Erie will return home on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Slattery
Field to take on the Davis & Elkins College Senators.
