Box Score ERIE, Pa. - The Lake Erie Storm fell behind early to the
Edinboro Fighting Scots and could not overcome a 15-point halftime
deficit in a 77-61 loss at the Gary Miller Classic on Saturday
(Nov. 28) night at Gannon University's Hammermill Center.
Ethan Bradshaw (Cincinnati, Ohio/Harmony Prep) paced the Storm
with 12 points, while Joe Roberts (Cleveland,
Ohio/Rhodes/Alderson-Broaddus) and Darnell Campbell (Cleveland,
Ohio/Collinwood) also scored in double-figures. Garrick Sims
(Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) added six points and team-highs in
rebounds (five) and assists (four).
The Storm (2-5) fell behind after an Edinboro run in the middle of
the first half. Lake Erie was able to hang with the Scots in the
early going, but the Fighting Scots shot 53 percent (16-for-30) in
the first half to jump to a 40-25 lead at the intermission.
Edinboro (3-1) pulled away in the second half, eventually leading
70-42, before the Storm was able to climb back in the closing
minutes.
That run began with a thunderous, one-handed dunk by Campbell, who
sprinted down the right-side off an Edinboro turnover and threw it
down with his right hand over Anthony Lytle. Campbell converted the
three-point play off the Lytle foul.
After that, the Storm fought back into the game, but there was too
little time left for a significant rally.
Lake Erie shot 38 percent (21-for-55) in the game and hit just
three treys.
The Storm will play at California (Pa.) on Tuesday for its third
straight game against a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
opponent.
