Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Lake Erie women's soccer team suffered a
3-0 loss to West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday (Oct. 27) at
Slattery Field. The Bobcats (10-6-1) scored with 30 seconds
remaining in the first half, then put the Storm (6-11-2) away in
the second half with a pair of goals in the final 20
minutes.
Sarah Snyder scored the first-half goal, sliding the ball just
past goalkeeper Jaimie
Nelson (Las Vegas, Nev./Las Vegas) inside the left post, just
seconds before the end of the half.
Hannah Macormic and Meghan Zayas added the second half goals for
West Virginia Wesleyan.
Lake Erie struggled to put together an offensive attack, taking
on 30 shots from the Bobcats. Nelson made 11 saves in her 90
minutes in net for the Storm.
Lake Erie's only shot came from Kaitlyn
Holland (Pickerinton, Ohio/Pickerington North) with 17 minutes
left in the game.
Caroline Lalley and Madison Edwards picked up the clean sheet
for the Bobcats.
The Storm will close the season with a 12 p.m. kickoff against
the Tiffin Dragons at Slattery Field on Sunday (Nov. 1). The game
will be the first of a doubleheader with the men's team.
