ERIE, Pa. (December 22, 2008) - Lake Erie College forced
No. 4 Gannon University into 19 turnovers for
the game, but came out on the losing end, 76-51 Monday
night on the road. Despite making one of Division II's top teams in
the country mishandle the basketball more than it has in any of its
games so far this season, the Storm was hit by the Golden's
Knight's 53-percent shooting from the field as the hosts made 32
field goals on its way to maintaining a perfect record at 6-0. It
was the second time the two teams met this season, with Gannon
winning the first battle, 76-56 back on Nov. 22.
The Storm had just two players score in double figures,
including senior Rick Leasure (Concord, Ohio/Riverside) with 11
and sophomore Scott Aston (Painesville, Ohio/Harvey) with 10.
Leasure also accounted for eight of the team's 31 rebounds. The
Storm trailed at the half, 42-24.
Lake Erie (4-11) will return to Athletic Center Arena on Dec. 29
to host Canada's defending national champion - Brock University -
at 7 p.m.
