Lake Erie Loses First Conference Game

PAINESVILLE, OH - The Lake Erie College women's soccer team lost the first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) game of the season to Frostburg State University 4-0. The Storm opened conference play on the road against the FSU Bobcats. Lake Erie opened the game strong against last seasons AMCC regular season champions. But the Bobcats were able to net their first goal of the game in the 14th minute. It looked like the Storm were only going to be down one goal going into the half, but with less than a minute remaining in the half FSU scored again. In the second half the Bobcats were able to score twice more.

Playing in her first full game of the season, after being medically cleared to play, freshman goalkeeper Veronica Skowron (Youngstown, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) made some big saves, totaling 13 for the day.

The Storm looks to rebound on Tuesday at home in another AMCC game against Pitt-Bradford.
