PAINESVILLE, OH - The Lake Erie College women's soccer team had two players record hat tricks in their 7-0 win over D'Youville College. Junior forward Angela Bethel (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) and sophomore forward Emma Hoskins (Fairfield, Ohio/McAuley) both had three goals to lead Storm scoring. Freshman Brittany Skeels (Warren, Ohio/Champion) also added her first goal of the season to finish the game.
Bethel also recorded two assists on a pair of Hoskins' goals. Hoskins was also assisted by senior Heather McElwain (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) on her second goal. Bethel was assisted by freshman Katelyn Overcasher (East Canton, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) and freshman Darlene Bott (Conneaut, Ohio/Lakeside). Skeels goal in the 58th minute was assisted by freshman Katie Daratony (Dexter, Michigan/Dexter).
Bethel tallied a total of 8 points this game which, added to her career total, made her the Storm's all-time points leader. She entered the game with 131 points, needing only three to surpass the current leader Katie Jayne (Niles, Ohio/Niles McKinley) who had 134. Bethel is now on top with 139 points.
