PAINESVILLE, OH - Some changes may be made shortly to the Lake Erie College scoreboard with the recent 3-0 win against Chatham College Monday afternoon.
Instead of listing Lake Erie as "home" on the scoreboard, the Storm may need to change it to Bethel. Sophomore forward Angela Bethel (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) scored her seventh career hat trick in the win, taking her season goal total to 21 - only one goal shy of tying the single season scoring record she set as a freshman.
Bethel was assisted on the first goal by Loni Sargent (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) in the 15th minute before netting another only three minutes later on a pass from freshman Emma Hoskins (Fairfield, Ohio/McAuley). Bethel's final goal of the game came in the 24th minute on another assist from Hoskins.
The Storm held Chatham to only three shots the entire game, all of whiched were saved by keeper Heather McElwain (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor).
Lake Erie is now 8-4-2 overall and will host Defiance College Wednesday at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
