Lenzell Green is in his first year at Lake Erie as the Defensive Line Coach. Coach Green joined the Storm after gaining experience at several NCAA Division I establishments. Prior to accepting the job at Lake Erie, he was a Defensive Line coach at the University of Jamestown in North Dakota from August 2021 up until his hiring at LEC.
As the DL coach at Jamestown, Coach Green worked primarily with the defensive line, while also assisting in game day operations, recruiting, scouting, practice plans, and running study hall. His primary recruiting areas were in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul). He was also in charge of the game day operations for winter sports. Before Jamestown, Coach Green was the Assistant Secondary Coach at Rocky Mountain College in Montana from August 2020 to June 2021. There, he assisted in recruiting, game day planning, scouting reports, worked with the Safeties/Nickels, and monitored study hall. He coached 2nd Team All-Frontier Conference players Ty Reynolds and Brail Lipford. He was a part of the Diversity Task Force, which aimed at promoting diversity, equality, scholarships, and more. He was also the Diversity Exchange Group Co-Founder.
Before his time at RMC, Coach Green was the Defense Graduate Assistant at Indiana State University from July 2017-December 2018. He acquired experience and the skills of a coach at ISU while earning his Masters of Science in Coaching/Physical Education. Some of his responsibilities included working with the linebackers and defensive backs, preparing scouting reports, assisting in game day duties, and checking academics. He coached All-Americans Jonas Griffith, Katrell Moss, and Rondell Green. Prior to his Graduate Assistantship, Coach Green was a Student Assistant for Defense at Eastern Illinois University in Illinois from January 2016-May 2017. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Sport Management with a Minor in Business Administration while working for the football team. His responsibilities were similar to those at ISU, which included working with the defensive line, assisting in scouting reports, game plans, and statistics, monitoring academics, and working closely with special teams. There, he assisted at coaching All-American David Johnson.
Coach Green received his Bachelors of Science in Sport Studies from Eastern Illinois in May 2016. Throughout his studies and career, Green has developed his skills in operating technology, social media, coaching, teaching, recruiting, and more.
