During his first year with the Storm, Alex excelled in his position. His efforts were recognized when he concluded the year being named the 2025 Athletic Staff Member of the Year.

Alex came to Lake Erie after holding the same role at Oberlin College in 2023-24. While there, he helped establish new standards within their strength and conditioning department. He was awarded Fan of the Year by the Oberlin College athletic department as recognition for his dedication to the student-athletes' success as well as frequently attending games in support of his athletes.

Before his time at Oberlin, Alex lived and worked in Colorado Springs, Colorado, also known as Olympic City USA. There he worked as a strength and conditioning coach for Pikes Peak Athletics from 2021-2023. While at Pikes Peak, he got the opportunity to work with several Olympic Trial qualifiers, a Winter Junior National Champion, multiple top-10 recruits in the country, and the number one ranked high school swimmer in the country (2022). Prior to his time at Pikes Peak, he lived and worked in Austin, Texas as a personal trainer specializing in performance-based goals with his clients.

Alex graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2018 with a degree in education with a focus on exercise science and entrepreneurship. During this time there, he played for one of the top collegiate rugby programs in the country, winning the MAC Conference Championship five times, adding to a 40-year conference championship winning streak that ended in 2020. He also played in the National Championship game in 2017, as well as placing fifth in the nation in the USA Rugby 7s Championship Tournament, the highest placing in school history. He also spent time in England, Wales, and Italy competing internationally.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and holds a USAW-1 Coaching Certification from USA Weightlifting.

Originally an Avon, Ohio native, he now resides in Lakewood, Ohio with his fiancée Liz. Together they own a personal training studio called Westside Personal Training in Cleveland.
