2014: Played in 45 games with a batting average of .245 in 163 at bats... 16 RBI and .917 fielding percentage

2012: Played in17 games, making 15 starts, as a freshman splitting time between second base and shortstop... batted .347, going 17-of-49 at the plate, with seven runs scored and six runs batted in... had four multiple hit games, including a career-best 3-for-4 at Northwood on 4/22. Also scored twice and drove in two runs in that game... ended the season with a six-game hitting streak and had hits in 12 of his final 13 appearances.

PRIOR TO LAKE ERIE: Four-year letter-winner at Warren De La Salle High School... named defensive MVP as a freshmen and junior, offensive MVP his sophomore year… also was a member of the basketball team for three years.

PERSONAL: Born September 27, 1993... majoring in business administration and sports management... parents are Clare and Kevin Mathews.
