Biography

2011: Listed as No. 4 draftable Division II prospect (first position player) by Baseball America in its annual college preview.

2010: Named to the All-Midwest Region Second Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association... played in and started 44 games and posted a .400 batting average (60-of-150), good for second on the team... led the Storm in home runs (11), runs batted in (40), total bases (107) and slugging percentage (.713)... became school's all-time home run leader on 3/27 against Baldwin-Wallace... did not record an out in five games inlcluding a five-hit game at Tiffin on 4/15... recorded two muti-home run games (3/20 vs. Malone and 3/27 vs. Baldwin-Wallace)... played primarily at shortstop, but also saw action in the mound in eight contest, including one start.... hurled a team-best 2.70 ERA in 13.1 innings... named MVP of the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer Baseball League All-Star Game and was a first-team All-Great Lakes League selection helping Hamilton Joes to title.

2009: Named to All-Independent Collegiate Athletic Association (ICAA) First Team... Started 47 of the 48 games he appeared in, primarily as the team's starting shortstop as a freshman... batted .320 (48-of-150) and led the team with 37 runs, a school-record 11 homers, 47 RBI, three triples and a .653 slugging percentage... had a team-leading three sacrifice flies and doubled 11 times while stealing four bases... had 14 multi-hit games, including three hits three times... hit two home runs in a game three times and homered three times in a doubleheader at Mars Hill on 3/4... drove in a career-high seven runs vs. Urbana on 4/25, hitting a grand slam and a three-run homer in the game... drove in five runs at Seton Hill on 3/18... had 10 games with two or more RBI... scored two or more runs in a game 10 times, including a career-high four vs. Case Western Reserve on 4/19, despite not getting a hit in the game... also made four appearances on the mound, posting an 0-1 record in 4 1/3 innings...made first career pitching start vs. Mercyhurst on 4/5, suffering the loss in that game... was named to a spot on the South Team for the Southern Collegiate Baseball League (summer league) All-Star game.

PRIOR TO LAKE ERIE: Was a four-year infielder and pitcher in baseball at Amherst Steele High School... earned Mizuno All-Ohio and All-Southwestern Conference honors in his senior year, helping lead the Comets to the SWC title... also selected to play in the NEOBCA All-Star Game... was a three-year guard on the basketball team, earning all-county and all-league honors.
