GLENVILLE, West Virginia – The Lake Erie baseball team returned to the Mountaineer State to face off against Glenville State in a four-game series. Lake Erie would put up the first run of the series, but Glenville State would comfortably take game one 8-2. The Pioneers would take game two 3-1 in a low-scoring affair. Lake Erie would force extra innings in game three but fell 8-7 in 11 innings. Glenville State would rally and walk it off in game four 8-7 to secure the series sweep.

The Storm would start the series with a bang with a solo shot in the top of the first from Brendan Hazuda, his first of the season. The Pioneers would answer back in the bottom half, moving ahead 2-1. Lake Erie would tie the game at 2 in the fourth with an RBI single from Dominic Roberts. Glenville State answered with two runs in the bottom half to move back ahead 4-2. The Pioneers would add four more runs in the next inning, growing their lead to 8-2. The Storm would not be able to get anymore offense as Glenville State would take game one 8-2.

The Storm would add their first run in the fifth, cutting their deficit to 7-1 after an RBI sacrifice fly from Hunter Aurand, scoring Brendon Rowe. Next inning, Lake Erie would bring the score to 7-6 after RBI singles from Dominic Roberts and Seth Yacobucci, and an RBI double from Ty Sowers. The Storm would tie the game at 7 in the seventh with a solo shot from Micah Geise, his first of the season. After four scoreless innings, the Pioneers would come up in the 11th and walk it off, taking game three 8-7.

Lake Erie would strike in the sixth, putting up five runs to take a 6-3 lead with an RBI double from Ty Sowers, an RBI single from Micah Geise, and a three-run home run from Jackson Lee, his first of the season. The Pioneers would add a run in the bottom half, cutting the deficit to 6-4. Another RBI single from Geise in the seventh would give the Storm an insurance run, bringing the score to 7-4. Glenville State would show patience at the plate in the bottom half and would walk off Lake Erie for the second straight game by a score of 8-7 for the series sweep.
