INDIANAPOLIS -- Lake Erie men's basketball student-athlete
Gio Moore has been named the Great Midwest Athlete of the Week for the week of February 23rd. This is the first time this season that a Lake Erie basketball student-athlete has received this honor and the first of Moore's career.
Moore helped guide the Storm to a 2-0 week as the team continues pushing towards a G-MAC regular season championship. He averaged 18 points per game, shot 65% from the field (13-of-20), averaged 6.5 rebounds per game, and totaled three blocks.
With Moore's help, the Storm are now 19-7 on the season and sit second in the G-MAC, just behind the Walsh Cavaliers. To secure the G-MAC regular season championship, Lake Erie must win its final two games while the Cavaliers would need to drop both of theirs.
The Storm will be back in action on Thursday, February 26th on the road to face the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m.
