PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- Lake Erie College Athletics has announced the hiring of Sandy Moran as the new head coach of the Storm cross country and track & field programs program.

Her passion for the sport and dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment will be instrumental in guiding our student-athletes to reach their full potential. We look forward to the energy and vision she will bring to our programs."
Moran comes to Lake Erie from Brescia University where she was the head coach of the cross country and track & field programs since 2023. Prior, she was an assistant coach at Miami University (OH) in 2023. During her 20-plus year career, she has spent time at Campbell University (1999-2000), Southern Illinois (2001-2002), Portland State (2002-2004), Humboldt (2004-2010), Lewis University (2017-2019), Cloud County CC (2019-2020), Highland CC (2020-2022), and Black Hills State (2022).
"I am excited to become the new Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Lake Erie College," said Moran. "I believe in the vision of the college and the athletic department. I appreciate the trust that everyone is putting in me to take the program forward. The best part is that there are talented young men and women at Lake Erie College, that I am looking forward to establishing to helping realize their goals."
Moran holds a B.S. in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Moran earned the University of Wisconsin Undergraduate Excellence Award in 1996 and was president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee from 1995-96. Moran was also a Big Ten Student Athletic Advisory Representative from 1995-96. She graduated from Campbell University with a Master's in Education in Interdisciplinary Studies with an Emphasis in Exercise Science in 2001.
