PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The #15 Lake Erie wrestling team hosted the Hiram College Terriers today for their first home dual match of the season. The Storm took care of business and defeated Hiram, 40-6. They now improve their record to 3-5 on the season and they remain 2-2 in G-MAC competition.

The Storm started strong with five straight victories to start the day.
Jordan Rodriguez earned the first one at 125 with a pin victory over Ian Fuentes to give the team a 6-0 lead. From there,
Anthony Sagaris had a tougher matchup but he came away with a 4-1 decision win.
At 141, Brendan Hamilton edged out Will Brodbeck 7-6 to put Lak Erie up 12-0.
Josh Howey got the start at 149 and dismantled his opponent, Jackson Bowers, 16-0 to earn a technical fall win. At 157,
Egidio DiFazio had a thrilling 3-2 sudden victory win over Kaelon Lawson-West to give Lake Erie a 20-0 lead with five matches remaining.
The Terriers forfeited their match at 165 giving the Storm six more points to their total but at 174, the Storm would forfeit themselves, giving six points to Hiram, which would prove to be their only points of the match.
Collin Fairbanks competed at 184 and had a nice 8-2 decision win. At 197,
Quinn Gorman impressed and earned a 19-3 technical win before
Jordan Smith took his opponent down by pin at 285.
Looking Ahead
The Storm will be back in action on Saturday, February 8th at home for a dual against Thomas More at 2 p.m. before senior day on Sunday, February 9th against Findlay.
