CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Lake Erie wrestling team kicked off the 2025-26 season by competing in the Bob Del Rosa Open, hosted by Case Western Reserve University. The Storm showed up and balled out in their opener, coming in second out of 20 teams and finishing just 3.5 points from first place.

En route to their second-place team finish, the Storm had five individual runners-up:
Braden Hahlen (125),
Anthony Sagaris (133),
Joey Romano (141),
Josh Howey (157), and Luke Stuerenberg (285).
Leading the group was Romano, who went 3-1 on the day with wins by fall (2:58), technical fall (21-5), and decision (19-15).
The Storm also claimed three third-place finishes, courtesy of

Colin Roberts (149), and
Vincent Scaramuzzino (184).

The Storm will be back in action on Saturday, November 15th on the road to compete in the Findlay Open.
