FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Lake Erie wrestling team competed in the Findlay Open today at the University of Findlay. It was a short-lived day as a whole but the Storm managed to come away with two placers in the open.
Lake Erie was led by
Anthony Sagaris who competed at 133. Sagaris would finish second overall and go 4-1 on the day. In the first round, he defeated his opponent by fall (6:09) and would then beat his next three opponents by decision. In the championship round, he fought hard but would fall 10-4.
Caresen Richards competed at 141 for the Storm and went 2-1 on the day while taking seventh. In his first round matchup, he would take down his opponent by 4-2 decision and then defeat his next one by tiebreaker, 6-5. He fell in his third matchHis day would end after a narrow 2-0 loss in the next round.
Looking Ahead
The Storm will be back in action on Sunday, November 30th against Davenport at 2 p.m. to compete in their first G-MAC dual meet of the season.
