Baseball Drops Final Two Games of Hillsdale Series

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- The Lake Erie College baseball team finished up their four-game split series against the Hillsdale College Chargers, Tuesday April 19th on the road. The Storm would struggle on the day and drop both games by scores of 19-3 and 20-3.

GAME 1

Zimba Cadiz got things started for the Storm in the top of the first with a double down the line. He would then steal third and advance home on a throwing error to give Lake Erie an early 1-0 lead.

Hillsdale earned that run back in the bottom half of the inning however and tacked on five mre runs over the following two innings.

Unfortunately for the Storm, they struggled heavily in the fourth inning and the Chargers totaled 13 runs. Lake Erie got two runs in the top of the 9th but fell in the 19-3 in the end.

Cadiz went 2-for-4 in the game and accounted for half of the Lake Erie hits.

GAME 2

Game two did not go much better for the Storm as they quickly found themselves in a 6-0 hold by the end of the second and only had one hit through the first five innings. The Chargers had a big fifth and sixth inning, scoring 14 runs and putting the game well out of reach for Lake Erie.

The Storm managed to string together three runs in the top of the sixth but it wasn't enough as they fell 20-3 in the final game of the series.

Cadiz once again had two hits, while Sebastian Silva went 2-for-3 on the day himself.

Between the two games, Cadiz swiped two more bags and now has 16 on the season, three away from tying the program single season record.

The loss brings the Storm's record to 4-29 on the year with a 3-15 record in conference play. They will be back in action on Thursday April 20th and Friday April 21st on the road to face the Malone Pioneers.
