Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm men's lacrosse team fell to the Maryville Saints, Feb. 20 in Painesville, Ohio, 14-11. The loss gives the Storm an 0-2 record to start the season.
Lake Erie got off to a slow start in the match, finishing the first quarter with a 6-2 deficit. The second quarter would start off the same, with the Storm surrendering two goals and trailing 8-2 at one point. From there, Lake Erie would turn it on and go on a tear. They would finish the half down 9-5 and would continue the momentum in the third quarter.
Lake Erie would erase that 9-5 deficit and claw their way back, tying the game at 10-10 just before the end of the third quarter with a goal by Blain Wallace, his second of the day.
From there, Maryville would sub out their goalkeeper and the Storm would finish the match with the Saints going on a 4-1 run, making the final score 14-11.
On the day, Dawson Kindall would lead the Storm with three goals and one assist, followed by Nick Askin, Blain Wallace and Connor Dent who would each have two goals and one assist each.
The Storm will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1:00 PM at Frostburg State before returning home on March 5 to take on the visiting Lewis Flyers at 12:00 PM.
