GREENSBURG, Penn. – Head coach Boomer Fechko and the Lake Erie wrestling program were on the road Saturday, November 19 to compete in the Seton Hill Duals at Seton Hill University. The Storm would go undefeated on the day, going 3-0.
Lake Erie would wipe the floor with their competition, winning all three of their duals easily. In their first match, they would face Belmont Abbey. Ryan Wehner (133), Christian Small (141), Jack Haskin (157), Jacob Potok (165), James Penfold (174), Jordan Barnett (184) and Honour Kline (285) would all win their matches en route to a 30-9 victory for the Storm.
Match two would prove to be an even more successful battle for Lake Erie as they defeated Davis & Elkins easily. Jacob Johnson (125), Ryan Wehner (133), Christian Small (141), Austin Fietz (149), Jack Haskin (157), Jacob Potok (165), James Penfold (174), Vincent Scaramuzzino (184), Brylan Clouse (197), and Honour Kline (285) all contributed to the victory for the Storm with Davis & Elkins forfeiting two of the matches and resulting in a 49-0 victory for Lake Erie.
The final matchup of the day for the Storm was against site host, Seton Hill. They would take that match as well, this time by a final score of 41-3. Lake Erie would stick with their previous lineup with the exception of Blake Sheppard (125) and Brandon Matthews (184) battling for the Storm.
Overall, Ryan Wehner (133), Christian Small (141), Jack Haskin (157), Jacob Potok (165), James Penfold (174), and Honour Kline (285) would all go 3-0 in their matches, highlighting the day for the Storm.
