STORM WARNING: Men's Basketball Strives For Five Against Malone

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – On Thursday, Lake Erie College will take on Malone in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action in the fourth contest in a five-game home stand. The Storm (10-6, 5-3) are in the midst of a five-game win streak, while the Pioneers (9-7, 4-5) have won their last two.

With the Storm gaining momentum in the New Year, Thursday's contest is expected to be full of energy. It will feature two of the G-MAC's best scorers in Lake Erie's Gabe Kynard and Malone's Nate Sheppard. Sheppard leads the league with 19.6 points per game, but Kynard isn't too far behind in third with 18.8 a game.

In his last game, Kynard scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Mitch Loomis pulled off the feat as well with an incredible second half for his second of the year.

It's the 24th meeting all-time between these two institutions separated by approximately 80 miles. Malone leads the all-time series 16-7 with each team winning at home last season. The two will close out the regular season in Canton on Saturday, March 2.
