Storm rally comes up short

The Quakers shot a robust 56.5 percent (24-of-42) from the floor en route to the road victory. Wilmington was paced by Malcolm Heard, who tallied 18 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, three treys and a 5-of-8 night at the free-throw line.

 

Garrick Sims scored 17 to lead the Storm. Sims also hauled down a game-high 12 rebounds. Riley Thomas added 10 points. LEC shot 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the field and just 53.8 percent (14-of-26) from the charity stripe.

 

The Storm's 2013-14 season is slated to get underway in earnest on Nov. 8 with a neutral-site contest against Davis & Elkins (W. Va.). Lake Erie does have one more exhibition game before that – they will be at Cleveland State on Nov. 5.
