MENTOR, OHIO --- The Lake Erie College women's tennis team fell in its home opener Saturday (Sept. 29) to visiting Malone University, 9-0, at the Mentor Heisley Racquet & Fitness Club.

The Pioneers (5-7, 1-6 GLIAC) won their fourth straight overall and earned their first win in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play while keeping the Storm (0-8, 0-8 GLIAC) winless on the year.

Malone won the five contested singles matches in straight sets and both doubles matches convincingly. 

The Storm hosts Tiffin University on Friday, Oct. 5.
