singles victories for sophomore Cassie Rideout (Perry,
Ohio/Perry) and freshman Jordyn Parrigan (Shelby, Ohio/Shelby), the
Lake Erie College women's tennis team was defeated by Clarion
University, 6-3, on a neutral court at Ashland University
Sunday (Sept. 26). The loss was the second of the day for the
Storm, which fell to host Ashland earlier in Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, 9-0.
Parrigan pulled out a win at first singles in the day's most
exciting match, outlasting Clarion's (2-5) Jaclyn Metzger 7-6, 2-6,
10-8 while Rideout picked up a 6-6, 6-3 win at third singles
over Alysia Sturdivant.

8-4 victory over Metzger and Michaela Hardy.
The Eagles won matches at second doubles and second and
fourth singles and also picked up two points with default victories
and fifth and sixth singles and another at third doubles.
Against Ashland (5-1, 5-1 GLIAC), the Storm (0-8, 0-7 GLIAC)
drop all four contested singles matches in straight sets and the
two doubles matches went the Eagles way by identical 8-2
scores.
