Ohio Dominican Defeats Storm in Matchup of GLIAC Newcomers

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- In a matchup of new members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Ohio Dominican came away with a 9-0 victory over the Lake Erie College women's tennis team Saturday (Sept. 25) at the Mentor Heisley Racquet Club.

The Panthers (6-1, 5-1 GLIAC) won all five contested singles matches in straight sets. At first doubles, the team of freshman Jordyn Parrigan (Shelby, Ohio/Shelby) and sophomore Emily Rose-Gray (Marine City, Mich./Marine City) put a scare into ODU's Ruchika Alahakoon and Nathelia Braga before falling 8-6.

The Storm's busy weekend continues Sunday, Sept. 26, with a pair of matches at Ashland University. Lake Erie will play host Ashland at 10 a.m. and Clarion University later in the day.
