PAINESVILLE, OHIO –
Visiting Notre Dame College continued its recent strong play as it
defeated the Lake Erie College men's tennis team, 7-2, at the
Heisley Racquet and Fitness Club on Friday (April 16).
The Storm (0-4) recorded its two
points with default victories at sixth singles and third
doubles.
The Falcons (8-8), who have won
three of their last four contests, took four of the five
contested singles matches in convincing fashion. Freshman
Austin Opfer (Sandusky, Ohio/St. Mary Central
Catholic) battled Jimmy Goodwin at first singles before
falling 6-3, 7-5.
Opfer and junior Anthony Nagy (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) also came up just short
at first doubles against Goodwin and Kyle Roach, 8-6.
Lake Erie wraps up its season
next Saturday, April 24, with two matches against Ohio Dominican
University and Indiana Tech University at Ohio Dominican.
