PAINESVILLE, OHIO - The Lake Erie College men's tennis
team took the court for the first time since the 2003 season on
Sunday afternoon (Feb. 21) but the Storm's debut was spoiled by the
University of Findlay in a 9-0 loss.
The Oilers (1-1) swept all six singles matches in straight
sets. Junior Anthony Nagy (Wickliffe,
Ohio/Wickliffe) had the Storm's (0-1) best showing in a
4-6, 2-6 loss at fifth singles to Bryan Simard.
In doubles play, freshmen Austin Opfer (Sandusky,
Ohio/St. Mary Central Catholic) and Jacob Marsinick (Vermilion, Ohio/St. Mary Central Catholic) were
narrowly edged at second boubles by Simard and Bryan Little,
8-6.
Lake Erie is next in action on Saturday, Feb. 27, at
Baldwin-Wallace College.
