NORTH CANTON, Ohio—In their first meet of the year- and first race under first-year Head Coach Matt Reneker- the Lake Erie College Cross Country team put up impressive results at the Ric Sayre Invitational hosted by Walsh University Saturday (Sept. 6).
As a team, the women placed fourth in the 5k event. Hailey Vanhoy had the top finish for the Storm, placing 20th with a time of 21:30.24. Gina Henley finished shortly after Vanhoy in 23rd place with a time of 21:33.56. Alexandria Gagne rounded out the top-thirty finishes for the Storm with a time of 22:23.61.
Vincent Horning had the top finish for the men at 13th with a time of 27:39.59 in the men's 8k event. Jacob Godec had the second-best finish for the Storm with a time of 29:25.31, good for 34th place.
The Storm is back in action next Saturday (Sept. 13) at the Penn State Behrend Invitational in Erie, Pa.
