Jon Poppy is entering his first season as an assistant coach for the Storm baseball program in 2025.

Prior to joining the staff, Poppy was a five-year pitcher for the Storm and a two-year captain. During his career, he pitched over 100 innings with only 44 walks allowed.

In 2024, he finished top-20 in the G-MAC in ERA, runs allowed, and earned runs allowed while finishing top three in walks allowed.

Poppy was named Academic All-G-MAC each season. He earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in Marketing in 2023 and completed his master's of education with a concentration in coaching in 2024.
