Joe Medlen is entering his first year as a volunteer assistant coach of the Storm softball program in 2024.

Medlen has been an assistant softball coach  at the High School level for four years including three at Perry High School (Lake County) where they had a 80-0 conference record, 1 year at Madison High School for a turnaround season, and also coaches travel softball in the summer while doing hitting lessons in his spare time. His teams have accumulated over a .700 win % and have batted over .380 throughout the years. During the day he works as a Preschool teacher in Kirtland.   

Prior to his coaching career, Medlen played a year of collegiate baseball at Hiram College before suffering a torn labrum, then finished his degree at Ohio University in specialized studies of Media & Marketing. 

Joe looks forward to bringing high energy and continued success to the Lake Erie Softball program. RAGE ON!
