CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie men's and women's cross country teams traveled down to Cedarville on Friday to compete in the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Challenge. There they faced many G-MAC opponents such as Tiffin, Ashland, Ohio Dominican, Cedarville, and Malone, along with other formidable DII/NAIA schools. Additionally DI Wright State competed in the men's and women's race, DI Cleveland State competed in the women's event, and many familiar DIII schools competed in both contests.
In the Women's Championship 6k event, the team placed 23rd overall and ninth in the DII/NAIA section. The men in their 8k Championship placed 16th overall and ninth in DII/NAIA.
On the women's side,
Julia Laudato led the storm with a time of 24:41.4, finishing 60th overall. Behind her next finished
Lanie Bower (204th, 27:57.9),
Kaleigh Williams (205th, 27:58.8),
Ayleen Villacres (221st, 28:24.1), and
Anna Vrabel (303rd, 35:26.4). Villacres broke her personal best 6k time in this race by nearly 20 seconds.
Switching to the men's side, freshman
Kristian Green was the first to the finish line, recording a time of 26:38.9, good for 66th overall. Next to finish would be

The Storm XC team will next compete in the Lock Haven Invite on Saturday, September 28th.
