LOCK HAVEN, Pennsylvania -- The Lake Erie men's and women's cross country team competed in their third race of the season this weekend at the Lock Haven Invite hosted by Lock Havne University.
As a team, the Storm women placed 25th out of 37 teams and the men finished 27th out of 35.
Senior
Raena Willett had a huge day, breaking her own school record in the women's 6k by almost a minute with a time of 21:28.5, finishing 8th and first among all G-MAC competitors at the meet.
Julia Laudato (92nd, 23:12.2),
Talia Mauro (188th, 24:40.7),
Lanie Bower (222nd, 25:22.2),
Ayleen Villacres (269th, 28:43.9), and Ryanne Abernathy (281st, (33:14.6) all rounded out the team for the Storm women.
On the men's side,
Taye Gonzalez finished 57th in the men's 8k with a time of 25:33.8 which goes down as the third fastest time in program history.
Derek Rightnowar (159th, 27:13.2),
Andrew Polcik (174th, 27:31.6),
Bryce Michaelis (184th, 27:41.1),
Nathan Jacobs (236th, 29:49.6),
Jyron Johnson (249th, 31:58.0), and
Josh Forsythe (251st, 32:18.7) all finished to conclude the day for the Storm.
Overall, it was a big day for the Storm as every runner would finish with personal records.
Lake Erie will be back in action for their final regular season meet on Saturday, October 7 for the Bill Lennox Invite hosted by Slippery Rock University.
