David Scott Golen earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Lake Erie College in 1995.
Golen played four years of basketball for the Storm from 1991-1995. He was named Lake Erie College Male Athlete of the Year in 1995 for his accomplishments both on and off the basketball court. Golen was named to the All-Treasure Island tournament team in 1995 and he was also named to the All-Ohio Region IV team in 1995.

At the time of induction, Golen was the all-time leader at Lake Erie College in rebounding with 765 during his four-year career. Additionally, he was third in career steals with 123 and fourth in career free throws made with 177. He also posted the second and third best seasons in rebounds as he pulled down 204 in 1993-94 and 196 boards in 1991-92.

During his time outside of athletics, Golen was a member of the science/biology club and a volunteer worker at equestrian events. He is now a lab technician at Toman Argo.

The Athletic Hall of Fame Committee recognized all these accomplishments by David Scott Golen with induction into the Lake Erie College Athletic Hall of Fame on May 18, 2002.
