The Lake Erie Storm volleyball team earned their sixth win of the 2019 season last night with a victory over the Central State University Marauders. The win improves the Storm's record to 6-11 on the year, while the loss puts the Marauders at 7-13.
The Storm won the first two sets with scores of 25-20, and wrapped up the match with a final set score of 25-18.
Overall, Lake Erie recorded 44 kills on 111 total attempts with 23 errors, for a hitting percentage of .189. The Marauders attempted 103 times, and recorded 24 kills and 20 errors, for a hitting percentage of .039.
Taylor Metzler led the Storm offensive production with 12 kills. Junior Carolin Santa added nine. Courtney Rosebrook (Jr.) and Dora Olah (Fr.) both added eight kills respectively. On the defensive side, freshman Kaylee Hiser recorded 17 digs, with one service reception.
The Storm returns to Painesville for two G-MAC matchups this season. The Storm will play Trevecca Nazarene Friday, October 11 at 7 p.m., and Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, October 12 at 1 p.m. The price for general admission for all Storm Athletic events is $5.00, with the exception of children under the age of seven years old. Lake Erie College faculty, staff, and students receive free admission to all Lake Erie athletic events.
